ArtScience Museum in Singapore adds new works to ‘Future World’ by teamLab

There is an ancient proverb which goes like this, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”. There is nothing one can say to better encapsulate the work produced by teamLab. Founded in 2001, the international art collective started in Japan as a space for collaborative projects amongst programmers and designers alike. Today the team includes artists, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians and architects as well. In the permanent exhibition sprawled across ArtScience Museum, teamLab showcases a series of immersive and interactive digital installations. Recently, teamLab added five new installations to the expansive showcase which is, by itself, a testament to the power of collaboration. (本文抜粋)

Now you can have your art reach a million people within seconds….young artists, are you listening? Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, people all over the world have been either confined to their homes or have been practicing social distancing with their loved ones. Although necessary, this has also resulted in people feeling more isolated. In light of this situation, various digital art installations have come up to bring the world together. One such interactive digital idea is of Flowers Bombing Home, conceived by teamLab. This installation transforms everyone’s televisions into digital artworks and makes them the artist. HOW JAPANESE ROCK STAR MIYAVI PERFORMS IN A WORLD WITHOUT LIVE MUSIC

The only live music I’ve managed to see all year came from an unexpected place. I recently found myself on a Friday night after hours at teamLab Planets, a popular tourist spot in Tokyo, watching rock star Miyavi working on his latest “Miyavi Virtual” project. Tokyo art collective is bringing its popular light installations to Europe

Tokyo-based teamLab is renowned for its multi-sensory exhibitions that draw sold-out crowds all over the world, from Shanghai to Seoul to San Francisco. The shows are usually centred around light, sound, digital sequences and immersive experiences. Giant glowing musical balls, waterfall projections and exploding flowers have all featured in teamLab pieces but perhaps the collective’s most famous work is Crystal Universe, an immersive light show that uses LED lights to create 3D celestial patterns that visitors can walk through. teamLab Borderless Jeddah opening in Saudi Arabia by 2023

teamLab is heading to Saudi Arabia with the new teamLab Borderless Jeddah as part of a new 10-year collaboration agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Culture. teamLab, an immersive and interactive art collective, will develop artworks for the new digital art museum on the Red Sea coastal city of Jeddah, set to launch by 2023. teamLab Borderless museums offer immersive experiences where the viewer becomes part of the work, as the presence of guests causes changes in the art. 「チームラボ」は自宅のテレビを使って世界中と繋がるアートプロジェクト「フラワーズ ボミング ホーム」を8月6日（木）から開始した。 同プロジェクトは、自分が描いた花をアップロードすることで、世界中の人が描いた花々と一緒に、テレビモニターのなかで咲き乱れるというもの。描いた花は、ゆっくりと幻想的に散っていき、これまで体験したことのないアートの世界を堪能できるのだとか。(本文抜粋)
