“teamLab Jungle and Learn & Play! Future Park” will be exhibited at Shibuya Hikarie (Tokyo, Japan). An Interactive Music Festival in a Spectacular Light Art Space.

To commemorate Shibuya Hikarie’s 5th anniversary since its establishment, “teamLab Jungle and Learn & Play! Future Park” will open at Shibuya Hikarie. The exhibition is a large scale expo including “teamLab Jungle - Light Art and Music,” which is an interactive music festival in a spectacular and vivid space filled with light art, and “Learn & Play! Future Park” which has been visited by over 5 million visitors worldwide.

“teamLab Jungle” is an interactive music festival in a spectacular light art space, where visitors are immersed in light and can play music by touching the light. “teamLab Jungle - Art Night” is for adults.

“Learn & Play! Future Park” can be enjoyed during both hours, while “teamLab Jungle - Kids Noon” and “teamLab Jungle - Art Night” are taking place.

Art that is experienced through the body – an experiment in physical perception.

Light Sculpture - Line: Lines of light reorganize the space and create three-dimensional objects as they converge. The space and objects also move in an interactive manner through digital control of the convergence of the lines. The space and objects are made of light, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in them.
Co-Creative Music: Participatory interactive music created by multiple people.

CONCEPT Light Sculpture - Line Lines of light reorganize the space and create three-dimensional objects as they converge, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in them. For a physical learning experience - dance and experience the art not with your mind, but with your body.

Aurora Lights

Light mixes in space, color gradation is born in space.

Sound Ritual

When you touch the images sliding down the wall a voice echoes out. As the people around you do the same, the voices join together into a chorus.

Throw in the Moon

Light Sculpture - Line series. The space around you is reconstructed by lines of light joining together. People move the sphere and the lights focus in on its movement, creating an interactive experience. As the space around you is created by the light, your body itself becomes absorbed into the experience.

Sound of Life - teamLabBall

As you hit the ball, its color changes and it makes a sound particular to that color pattern. When you and other people continue to hit the balls, the different sounds cascade into music.

Synchronizing and Transforming Space - teamLabBall

This is an attempt to turn the entire space into a three dimensional projection object in which the spheres float freely. The lights move in three directions around the space, whilst the light of each sphere moves physically with the sphere itself. The music changes depending on the sphere's location in space as well as other factors.

CONCEPT Spatial Objects
The digital domain allows individual and independent elements of an artwork to connect and behave as a group. Elements are able to move freely within the group and change position. When the elements are connected within a spatial network, they form a unified artwork—a Spatial Object that can be physically entered into by the viewer.

Crows are Chased and the Chasing Crows are Destined to be Chased as well, Life on Collision - 1 Crow where 16 Light Rays Cross

This works starts when the crows of Crows are Chased and the Chasing Crows are Destined to be Chased as well enter the Light Sculpture space that is located in the Flower Forest. 
Crows are drawn at the intersection of 20 rays of light and fly around the space in three-dimensions. Crows chase after each other. And the chasing crows eventually are chased themselves.
The Light Sculpture - Line series uses light to construct sculptural space in three-dimensions. The space and three-dimensional light sculptures move around people immersing their bodies in the artwork.

Light Vortex

Light sculptures created by light that continues to flow outwards. The accumulation of flowing light creates a living universe.

The existence of an ocean vortex is made up of the same water, both inside and outside of it. Despite this, why do we feel a sense of existence in the vortices of the ocean?
Even if the components of an artwork continue to flow outward, when continuity and order are formed in parts, they are recognized as a single entity, and sometimes even feel like life.
The inside and outside of the existence are not a difference in substance, but a difference in order.

Life is the Light that Resonates in the Dark

When people touch a tree and stop, the color of the light of the tree changes. The color of the light spreads to nearby trees and animals. As it continues, it changes the color of the light of life.
Touch the animals to see if they react.

The artwork is not a pre-recorded image that is played back: it is created by a computer program that continuously renders the work in real time. The interaction between people and the installation causes continuous change in the artwork: previous visual states can never be replicated, and will never reoccur. The picture at this moment can never be seen again.

teamLab Future Park

Artificial intelligence and machinery could replace much of the existing work that we know of today. In a future society, traits that only humans possess—such as creativity—will become increasingly important.

However, in current education and everyday life creativity is suppressed rather than being encouraged. Additionally, large numbers of people are addicted to smartphones. Their brains may be connected, but their body is isolated. As a result opportunities for nurturing co-creative experiences are decreasing.

Humans learn about the world through interaction with others and by sharing experiences. People think with their bodies as they move through the world, and society has developed through creative activities born from collaboration. This is why co-creative experience is very important for society.

By focusing on the possibilities of art that, "changes the relationships between people, and changes the existence of others into a positive experience," teamLab hopes that we can change individual creative activities into co-creative activities, whilst also maintaining individual freedom of movement.

This project was born from the desire to create enjoyable co-creative experiences.

Graffiti Nature - Beating Mountains and Valleys, Red List

Beating Mountains and Valleys is a three-dimensional terrain that shifts and undulates as visual and physical cognition become separated.
All the various creatures drawn by everyone live in the Beating Mountains and Valleys. Color in a creature on the paper provided, and see the picture you have drawn come to life and move in front of you.
Living things eat each other and are eaten by each other in one shared ecosystem.The creatures you draw will multiply if they eat other living things, but they will die and disappear if they do not eat enough, or if they are eaten by other creatures.
The salamanders eat the snakes, the snakes eat the lizards, the lizards eat the frogs, and the frogs eat the butterflies, each one propagating as they consume. Likewise, the butterflies multiply in places where flowers grow.Although flowers will bloom if people stand still, their petals will scatter if people walk around and step on them. Salamanders will die if people step on them too much. 
Living creatures spread throughout the world, increasing and decreasing in number. The creatures you have drawn may be increasing somewhere. See if you can find it.
The International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s Red List is a database of the conservation status of biological species. Wildlife assessed in the Red List, including threatened and endangered species, appear in this work.

Sliding through the Fruit Field

This is a slide where fruit grows.

Various kinds of fruit are growing on the slope. Balls are also bouncing around.
You become the sunlight and slide down the slope. When your body collides with the balls, your sunlight energy will be transferred to them, and they will go flying off in all directions. When the balls collide with the fruit, the fruit will begin to grow.
Each ball has a different role depending on its color.

A light blue ball represents water: when this ball hits the seeds, they sprout, bud, and blossom. When a yellow honey bee ball hits the flowers, they are pollinated, and the flowers become fruit.
When the fruit is hit by a ball, new seeds are sown, leading to new life.

A Musical Wall where Little People Live

This is a musical wall where little people live.
When stamps of various shapes such as mushrooms, sheep barns, or long sticks of ice are attached to the wall, these objects appear in the world of the little people. The little people notice these and start jumping onto them.Depending on the stamp, the little people will slide, jump, or climb on top of them. If the stamp is removed, the stamp in the world of the little people will remain for a moment longer before disappearing.Attach various stamps to the wall, and the little people will play with delight.
Seeds with smiley faces come falling down from above. When the seeds hit the stamps, various notes in different pitches play depending on the type and position of the stamp they hit, eventually creating music.

Connecting! Block Town

Create a city where trains, cars, boat and planes run, by placing connecting blocks on the table.The same type of blocks can connect to each other, allowing vehicles to run along roads and train tracks created by the connections. The vehicles will evolve as you connect more blocks. What you see in the air is the view from a helicopter. You can change the helicopter's flight route with the yellow cube connecting blocks.

A Table where Little People Live

This is a table where little people live.
If you put something, such as your hand, on top of the table, the little people will jump on to it. Depending on the shape of the objects you place on the table, the little people will slide, jump, or climb. Place many objects on the table and the little people will play with delight.

Story of the Time when Gods were Everywhere

When people touch the characters that represent mountains, trees, birds, etc., that are projected on the wall, the world of the characters appears and a story is born. The objects that emerge from the symbols influence one another and are influenced by the actions of other people. For example, a bird lands on a tree, a sheep runs away from a dog, and a sheep dances as a child approaches it.

Future Park," some of the attractions such as "Graffiti Nature - Mountains and Valleys" and "Slide and Grow! Fruit Garden," are not wheelchair accessible. Additionally, depending on how crowded the venue is, it may become inaccessible by wheelchair.

Smoking is prohibited in the venue. A smoking area is located in the hallway.

Pets, including small dogs, are prohibited in the venue (service dogs are permitted).

・About photography and video

Flash photography and the use of drones in the park are prohibited. Please also refrain from using a tripod or selfie stick, as they may disturb other visitors.

・Other Cautions

Please note the organizer may take photographs during the event, and the guests may become subjects in the photographs at any time. The images may be used for promotional purposes, including media reports on the event and advertising.

teamLab (f. 2001) is an international art collective. Their collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, science, technology, and the natural world. Through art, the interdisciplinary group of specialists, including artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects, aims to explore the relationship between the self and the world, and new forms of perception.

In order to understand the world around them, people separate it into independent entities with perceived boundaries between them. teamLab seeks to transcend these boundaries in our perceptions of the world, of the relationship between the self and the world, and of the continuity of time. Everything exists in a long, fragile yet miraculous, borderless continuity.
