When it exists in perception, does it truly constitute existence?

Its material is light. The subject of its creation is the viewer's own body and perception. The artwork is shaped for the first time by the dynamic body and perception of the viewer, becoming a sculpture in their cognitive world.

The artwork explores the possibility of a new existence that is different from material existence, and questions the very nature of existence and perception.

생명은 결정화된 덧없는 빛 / Ephemeral Solidified Light

빛이 고형화하며 생긴 빛의 결정과 같은 것이 공중에 무수히 떠 있으며 떠오르거나 가라앉고 때로는 멈춘다. 몸 전체로 작품 공간에 몰입하면 몸에 닿은 빛의 결정은 깨지고 빛은 결정에서부터 작품 전체로 퍼져나간다.빛의 결정에 닿을 때, 보이는 부분은 끊어짐 없이 계속 흘러가는 것의 일부라는 것을 깨닫는다.생명은 언제 시작된 지도 모르는 과거에서부터 한 번도 끊긴 적 없이 흘러가고 있는 에너지의 연속체 속에서 기적적으로 고형화된 덧없는 빛의 결정이 되어 나타나는 현상인 것이다.

Living Crystallized Light

Like an organic entity created from crystallized light, the work shines iridescently from its center as it moves around, merging and dividing continuously.People can walk into the artwork, and even if they do so, the artwork will continue to be maintained, its existence unharmed. If a person touches the artwork, they realize that what they are looking at is ordinary water. The artwork’s existence is not independent, but is actually a unique phenomenon created by its environment.The places where the work appears will change as the viewer moves. The work’s appearance is unique to the viewer, so someone viewing the artwork from another angle will see a different colored work appearing in a different place. In other words, the existence of the artwork being seen is created by its environment, and exists only in the viewer.

We do not perceive the world we see, we see the world we perceive.A sphere made of accumulated rays of light.The light radiates from the center in infinite fine rays, creating its spherical shape. The light source remains motionless, yet the countless lines emitting from it wriggle continuously.The sphere has no surface boundary, and the perception of the boundary between the artwork and the body is ambiguous. When you try to touch the sphere, it reacts, but since it does not have a physical boundary, your hand goes into the sphere.What is this sphere? Why do the rays of lines wriggle?Our world is within us.And if we perceive this sphere made of accumulated lines, the world we perceive will expand, and we may see the spheres of accumulated lines in our daily lives. As the world you perceive changes, the way you see the world goes on to change.

Massless Suns and Dark Suns

무수한 빛의 구체들과 어둠의 구체들.하나하나의 빛의 구체는 빛이 응고된 것처럼 공간상에서 뚜렷하게 지각할 수 있지만 물질적인 경계면이 없기에 신체는 이를 지각할 수 없다.구체와 신체의 경계를 인식하는 것은 어렵고 애매모호하다.가만히 보고 있으면 어둠이 응고된 듯한 청자색의 어둠의 구체도 나타나기 시작한다.사람들이 빛의 구체를 만지려 하면 구체는 밝게 빛나고 주변의 구체도 차례로 공명하며 빛이 퍼져나간다.작품은 그 자체로는 존재할 수 없으며 환경이 만들어내는 현상이 작품이 된다. 그리고 작품은 물리 공간에는 존재하지 않고 인식상에 존재한다.존재란 무엇인가.

무엇을 보고 있는가? 초점은 어디에 있는가? 그리고 그것은 존재하는가?구체 안에는 물질적 실체가 있는 빛, 빛이 결정화한 것 처럼 둥그런 강한 빛이 금방 부서지면서 생기는 빛, 높은 위치에서 젤리처럼 흔들거리는 약한 빛, 그리고 주변의 환경에 의해 그 빛에 비눗방울처럼 크고 강하다, 젤리 덩어리처럼 거대하고 약하다 푸딩같은 빛, 그리고 주변 환경에 의해 생성된 무수한 빛이 뒤섞여, 계속 움직이는 빛과 움직이지 않는 빛이 교체되어 간다.그러나, 빛의 구체와 빛의 젤리는 존재하지 않는다.빛의 구체의 표면에는 유리 같은 물질은 아무것도 없고, 이 구체는 빛으로만 이루어져 있다. 그러나 물리세계에서는, 빛은 응고되지 않고, 빛이 구형의 덩어리가 되지도 않는다. 즉, 이 빛의 구체는 존재하지 않는다. 빛의 젤리도 마찬가지다.이 빛의 구체와 빛의 젤리는 물리세계에서는 존재하지 않고, 인식세계에 존재하는 조각 “Cognitive Sculpture”이다. 재료는, 빛과 신체와 인식. 체험자 자신의 능동적인 신체와 인식에 의해 모양이 만들어지고, 체험자 자신의 인식 세계에서만 출현하여 존재하는 조각. 인식 상에 존재할 때에, 그것은 존재한다.또한, 각 구체는 혼자서는 모든 빛을 만들어 내지 못하고, 다른 구체들로 이루어진 환경이 각 구체 안에 무수의 빛을 만들어 낸다. 각각의 구체는 서로 다른 구체의 빛을 만들어 내는 환경의 일부가 된다. 환경이 만들어 내는 현상이, 작품을 존재하게 한다.능동적인 신체와 인식, 환경, 그것들이 물직적 존재와는 다른, 새로운 존재의 가능성을 제시한다.인식과 존재를 다시 묻는다.사람이 멈춰 서면 가장 가까이에 있는 구체가 밝게 빛나고, 구체의 빛은 각각의 구체로부터 항상 가장 가까운 구체로 연속적으로 이어져 간다. 그리고 타인이 만들어낸 빛과 교차한다.무작위처럼 보이는 공간 속 구체의 배치는, 어느 구체에서 시작하더라도 항상 가장 가까운 구체로 선을 계속 이어 그으면, 한붓 그리기(unicursal)처럼 모든 구체를 한 번씩만 거쳐가는 하나의 이어진 빛의 궤적이 되도록 수학적으로 설계되어 있다.사람에 호응한 구체의 빛은, 항상 가장 가까운 구체로 이어지면서, 모든 구체를 반드시 한 번씩 거쳐 공간의 모든 구체로 이어진다.이것은 사람들의 존재에 의해 생겨나는 연속적인 빛, 그 연속성의 아름다움을 모색하는 작품이다.
