teamLab Biovortex Kyoto Opens Fall 2025: A New Dimension of Art and Existence in Japan’s Cultural Heart

This October, the ancient city of Kyoto will witness the opening of one of the most ambitious cultural projects in recent memory: teamLab Biovortex Kyoto, a permanent art museum created by the boundary-pushing collective teamLab. Spanning over 10,000 square meters, the space will become the largest of the group’s installations in Japan to date—surpassing even teamlab Planets TOKYO DMM and the newly opened teamLab Borderless: MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM.(Excerpt from the text)

Art collective teamLab set to unveil Biovortex Kyoto museum in October 2025

International art collective teamLab, formed in Tokyo by a group of artists, programmers and architects in 2001, has been mesmerising the world with its permanent and pop-up immersive art experiences that blend digital art with tangible installations and interactive elements. This autumn, teamLab continues its expansion in Japan, with a permanent art museum in Minami-ku, Kyoto: teamLab Biovortex. Finally! teamLab is opening a permanent immersive art museum in Kyoto
