These days, just being outside can feel like a luxury. Japan's leading digital art studio is betting that will continue even after the pandemic.
TeamLab, a Tokyo-based company known for its award-winning psychedelic installations throughout the world’s biggest cities, is branching into outdoor exhibitions. TEAMLAB IS COMING TO SEOUL'S DONGDAEMUN DESIGN PLAZA THIS YEAR

teamLab is set to launch a brand new exhibition dubbed teamLab: LIFE at Seoul‘s Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), a multi-cultural complex designed by Zaha Hadid. According to a press release, the digital art installation will feature immersive pieces that explore the beauty of the continuity of life.
The art collective will start to transform the DDP this fall into an interactive space for the upcoming exhibition where visitors will get to “explore the relationship between the self and the world and new perceptions through art created using digital technology.” (Excerpt from the text)

Summer is approaching, which means we’ll be seeking comfort in air-conditioned museums (with face masks on, of course) and pools, and with icy cold drinks. Both teamLab Planets and Borderless reopened this month with increased safety measures, making them perfect options for beating the heat or hiding away from June’s rainstorms.  チームラボが新たな常設ミュージアム「teamLab Forest(チームラボフォレスト)」を、福岡市にオープンさせる。
7月21日にオープンするこの施設は、福岡PayPayドーム敷地内に開業する複合施設「BOSS E・ZO FUKUOKA(ボス イーゾ フクオカ)」内に位置するもので、「捕まえて集める森」と「運動の森」からなるミュージアム。
「捕まえて集める森」は、「捕まえ、観察し、解き放つ」をコンセプトに、自らの身体で探索し、発見し、捕まえ、そして、自ら捕まえたものをきっかけに興味を広げていくことを主眼とした新しい「学びの空間」。(Excerpt from the text)

The art collective teamLab is a group of creatives from industrial fields, ranging from artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians and architects who work at a collaborative intersection that allows them to create an art experience which, as translated in their work too, truly knows no border. As an art lover, writer and curator, it has always been a strong pillar in my set of values that art and science progress better when the two work hand-in-hand.
